Join us for a roundtable discussion on designing cities that are resilient in an ever-changing world.


As natural disasters become more frequent—particularly in coastal areas—we face a significant loss of housing stock. At the same time, the global food system requires a transformative shift toward more localized, regenerative and controlled agriculture. Our path forward lies in a symbiotic approach that integrates these essential elements.


By intentionally rebuilding towns and cities to support local food production, we can foster adaptability and innovation.


This roundtable will include:

  • Hector Leal, CEO of Grupo Cayla, who is pioneering the development of human-scale cities, including the walkable community of Cayalá in Guatemala City. Cayalá blends residential, retail, and recreational spaces, encouraging residents and visitors to embrace community connection in open spaces.
